What this tool is
Secondlook is a set of browser-based checks that help you spot common hardware faults in a second-hand MacBook. It is an aid to your own judgement, not a professional inspection or a certification.
No warranty
The diagnostics are provided "as is". Browser APIs cannot see inside a machine: a test can pass on a Mac that still has an intermittent fault, a failing SSD, water damage or a hidden lock. A pass here is not a guarantee that a Mac is sound, and the suggested price deductions are rough guidance, not a valuation.

Terminal commands
Our guides include read-only macOS commands that report a Mac's status. Only run commands on a machine you own or have the owner's permission to inspect, and read each one before you run it.
